The Whitham Jones Way

We are Dr Anwen Whitham and Lisa Jones, and we believe in upskilling people to manage stress before it becomes a problem. We bring together our decades of academic research, learning and experience to help organisations manage stress in the workplace. We can’t remove stress completely, but we can teach you how to recognise the symptoms by promoting evidence-based strategies to cope with it.

As highly trained, qualified, licensed practitioners, we believe our empirically tested and carefully researched techniques will nurture positive change in your organisation.

Meet the Founders

We both work clinically in private practice and have over 30 years combined experience meaning we don’t just talk the talk, we walk the walk and understand how to get the best from people.

Dr Anwen Whitham

Co-Founder

Anwen is a chartered practitioner psychologist, registered with the British Psychological Society and Health and Care Professions Council.

After her degree in sociology and psychology, she became a master in psychology before being awarded a teaching scholarship to read for her PhD. Anwen’s research explored individual differences in responses to stress and depression. The specific focus of her work considered how belief systems alleviate or perpetuate symptoms of stress, which led to further work on how coping strategies are developed.

In 2006 Anwen qualified as a  practitioner psychologist (clinical) through the NHS. She specialised in working with neurological conditions at Consultant level for over 10 years before co-founding Whitham Jones.

Lisa Jones

Co-Founder

Lisa has a BSc (Hons) in counselling and is a qualified psychotherapist, coaching practitioner and NLP master practitioner certified in applied neuroscience and brain health. She is registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and the Association for Coaching.  After graduating, Lisa went on to work with adults to overcome addiction and mental health issues before taking a keen interest in stress and chronic ill health.

The principles of neuroscience underpin Lisa’s work. She believes it is essential to educate people on how the brain works, how to influence mindset and how to understand neuroplasticity (the ability of the brain to form and re-organise neural connections). When we understand this, we can learn positive thought patterns and behaviours to promote resilience, confidence and a more effective way to manage stress.

Lisa continues to work in private practice with both adults and young people and firmly believes that prevention is better than intervention which was a key driver in co-founding Whitham Jones.
